2002 Seville no low beams

Asked by Danny Dec 06, 2017 at 06:19 AM about the 2002 Cadillac Seville SLS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

An elderly friend of mine has an 02' Seville, original owner. The car has day
time running lights and high beams, no low beams? At night she is driving
with only the daytime running lights and the dealership has told her that the
lights are working properly. That can not be true, all cars have low beam
headlights. Please give me a detailed description of: (first) the fact that her
car should have low beams & (second) what she needs to tell her service
department rep. at the dealership in order to get this resolved! Thank you
very much.

I do believe that the daytime running lights operate at a certain percentage of the regular low beam lights from the same lamps. So, when it gets dark they automatically increase to 100% as well turning on the tail and marker lights. If you can't confirm a increase in light then something is wrong. I have never been impressed with the nighttime quality of the Seville's headlights. I had to switch to better rated expensive bulbs and still wasn't happy.

I have a 2001 Cadillac Seville and am having exactly the same problem. However, I know hat at one point I had Low Beams before having this problem. They were not bright, but they worked and they were NOT the daytime running lights!!!

Light sensors need to be replaced maybe and I'm guessing you are running sentinel mode? Its the slide switch below the turn fob.
