sevilles & devilles have a vapor problem mostly in the summer..cools down then starts
The car turned on yesterday morning, normal. Parked and didn't use it all day at night tried to start the car and it didn't so we mess with the relays and fuses came to the conclusion it's the fuel pump , we left it alone for the night and today in the morning changed the fuel pump and we got nothing just cranking
Vapor lock is exceedingly rare in a fuel injected engine and the 2001 DeVille has a fuel pressure spec of 35 psi +/- 5. The pump will overcome any vapor in fuel lines. You need to find out whether it's a fuel delivery problem or spark. There are the old-fashion ways, buy a can of starting fluid and squirts a LITTLE bit, a 2 second spray in to intake. If it runs for 5 - 6 seconds you have spark. Then if so, test the fuel pressure at rail, the regulator may have gone bad if it's not in the 35psi range.
Thanks Ford nut I will do it the old fashioned way and check if it has spark, where would the regulator located
These will size up some

when you pull the vacuum line off, if there is gas in the rubber line the regulator is definitely bad ..I have been trying to find bigger pictures, more perspective but that's all there is
You say you have good fuses and relay for pump. Did you check for power at the pump. When you turn key on not cranking do you hear pump come on briefly. Have you put a fuel gauge on it to check fuel pressure.
