Shifting problems

I have a 2001 Cadillac Deville when I put it into
gear my car does not shift into any gear . The
shifter shifts into all gears but transmission isn't
catching gears . I just changed the tcc because my
check engine light threw that code so I spent all
that time an money an my car doesn't move at all .
Can someone please help me find an explanation
of what's the problem . I just purchased this car 2
months ago so not to sure of problems with it yet.
But it does start an it was just running an driving all
of a sudden it stopped

the shift cable is broken. you will need to replace it. inspect where it detatched... maybe u can find a way to repair it for now.
I got a 1995 Cadillac DeVille it drives but it doesn't seem like it is going into another gear it sounds loud whenever I go past 40 miles per hour
Sounds like the Parking Paw is not releasing (if the linkage is connected).

95 deville when i put it in gear it takes a minute to engage then it is fine
