1999 cadillac escalade starts up but turns off when put in drive been told sensor but what sensor could it be and how would i fix it

what sensor could be causing my escalade to turn off once I put it in drive and try to take off

could be a tcc or torque converter control solenoid. when they go bad the torque converter wont unlock. google the location for your model. unplug it if possible, if it "fixes" then that is the problem. can be an expensive fix. you can drive the car fine with it unplugged but you will lose some fuel mileage
