Running rich to MUCH fuel.. MAF and HEGOS, and TPS, control signals for fuel mixture...Have it read for codes, even if the check engine light is NOT on the computer will have stored information and codes. Discount auto stores will read codes for no fee. write them down.

When I start the truck it miss fires like crazy n have to let it run at a idle for about 5 to 10 minutes

Don't know if your still struggling with this issue but I was experiencing the same symptoms on my 03 ram 1500 qc4.7l 2wd with stock 20" wheels. (yes that does matter) My truck was running rich as f@ak, causing the black smoke. Plus my onboard mpg was reading 11 mpg highway. My solution was changing out both o2 sensors which is suggested by the factory every 60,000 miles, (1 pre cat, 1 post cat), which wasn't horrible beings that both were accessible without even lifting the truck and gratefully at $60 a piece I was still able to pay my mortgage. Black smoke no more and my onboard mpg raised to 20.1 avg mpg With cali emissions sensors. P.S. (Take care of your truck, and it will take care of you.) Even if it's a Chevy..
