how much weight can a 1998 Cadillac deville pull

need to pull a cub cadet riding lawn mower and a pushing lawn mower, will be going about 40 mi

It should pull it with no effort at all,as long as trailer is only single axle and light weight,my uncle pulls his boat with his,all the time.

Sounds like you will be pulling under 2000 lbs which, with a fairly light trailer, should be OK. Keeping the speed down will help and pulling less than 100 iles or so would also help. Its the trans that takes the load in these situations. If you have an overdrive trans, drop it into le next lowest drive gear from "D". If you are going farther, consult a dealer or the owner's manual.
