Bought 2011 Rio base model. Runs at 3,000 Rpm at 60 mph. What is best way to slow this engine down to get better gas mileage. Any ideas?

Nothing realy, its a brand new car, it should already get great has milage.
My 2007 rio lx turns around 3K at 60 mph. Engine and transmission are designed the way they are. Larger wheels and tires might drop rpm but probably won't do much to save gas. GL OM
Mine is running at 2200 but only gets 26. 2 months ago I was getting 31 or 32. Just changed all of a sudden. 122000 miles also 2012 sernto
I thought somthing was wrong, when I hit 70mph, it goes from 2 1/2-3, so that's ok then?
