Car will not move or accelerate

I have a 2011 Nissan sentra , when I put it in drive or
reverse and push on the pedal it will move like a few inches,
and will not rev up.  Is it my transmission or something
simple

sounds like limp mode , scan for codes and get the definitions

There is no check engine light on, my son put his scanner on it and he said something about a cvt step motor
