The check engine light comes on in my 2011 nissan altima every now and the. Not blinking, but constant. Is this serious?

Its a 2011 nissan altima 2.5 s sedan. Only 100,000 miles on it.

It can be if it is not looked at. If it is a miss fire code, (a miss fire) in a cylinder it could damage the catalytic converter. Just go to an auto parts store and have them scan the vehicle for any trouble codes. This would let you know why the light is coming on. Write down the codes.
