Today's Sunday so i cannot get it checked,
but I need to pick up a friend tonight, about
40 miles. Is it dangerous to drive my car
onto highway? How bad is it for my car?

who knows? you have an expensive Jag, and I wouldn't take any chances- can you just rent a car?
