replacing alternator for 3.7l jeep liberty what is the correct amperage for a replacement alternator

The standard replacement alternator for your Jeep is listed as 140 amps and I don't see any optional choices. That will be fine. I remember cars in the 1960's were only 45 amps. Recently I ran a 600 horsepower plow truck with lights everywhere and it only had 110 amp alternator. It would light up the night on all sides.
