2011 equinox alarm

my key fob went through the washer and dryer the alarm on my vehicle keeps going the only way it will stop is when the key is in the ignition. I took the battery out of fob and cleaned with rubbing alcohol, put a new battery in the fob and the alarm starting going again. What should I do now?

Maybe try putting the remote in a ziplock bag of rice overnight so it dries out? The rice will act as a dryer. This technique has worked on various electronics. Zip the bag with the rice and remote in it so no air gets in it.
