Bigger tire size

Trying to go from 245/45/ 18 to 245/55/18
on my 2011 Nissan Maxima , will it work??

I doubt it. Those tires are probably too tall.

I thought that 55 series was a lower profile tire the 45 guess just stupid cause it's a thinner tire to I thought

The lower the number the shorter the sidewall. 75 series tires are very tall sidewalls. 45 series are very short. When you get down to 35 series they are basically rubber bands on the wheels.
