Looking for advice - What is the long term life on a Mazda? How do they fair over 40,000 miles?

Consumer Reports gives the 2011 CX-9 positive ratings in all categories, including Engine and Drive Train and calls it a "good bet" as a used SUV. It's built in Japan, BUT uses the same 3.7L V6 used in some Ford models (From Wikipedia: The CX-9 is built on the Ford CD3 Platform that is shared with the Ford Edge, and it uses the same 3.7 L V6 engine used in the Ford lineup). It should function fine over 40k miles, though my personal preference and comfort level is with a Mazda built in Japan with a Mazda engine having NOTHING to do with a Ford...as in my Mazda MX-5 Miata.
Does this answer your question @ GLSH28 ???
I am driving my Mx-6 daily over 60 miles. it has 260k on it and runs like a dream. I used to autocross it so its not like i am a grandma behind the wheel. other than loosing a few sway-bar linkages and basic maintenance it still gets over 30 mpg. i own 6 Mazda's now. all are pretty much bulletproof.
I have 134,000 miles on my 2011 CX9, I keep it serviced as Mazda recommends. Best riding automobile I have ever driven. Currently, I put some 2,500 miles in it monthly mostly over the road. I only allow the factory dealer , Nelson Mazda, in my area to service it. Best service dept I have seen in my 60 years of driving. Just facts, my friend, just the facts.

We had a 2010 CX-9 Grand Touring with over 125k miles on it. It needed no major work while we had it. Was great in all conditions. Since it was at the 125k we decided to get a new 2019 CX-9 Grand Touring. We were skeptical at first since it is only made in 4cyl 2.5L Turbo now, but we love it and gas mileage is better.
