How do I remove the fuel injectors for cleaning and o ring rebuilding

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Not sure where there located and how hard it will be. Plan on soaking them in parts cleaner for 2-3 hours then
blowing them out with air and rebuilding the o rings. Also how can I tell if some just need to be replaced. I'm  currently running on only 6 cylinders. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you think your injectors are causing a problem, try rebuilt units. They are equivalent to new and reasonably priced. Much easier and more reliable than trying to clean out your old ones. I have not done this yet in my 93 Deville but I did put rebuilt Bosch III units in my 91 TransAm with very positive results. They were $20 each from a company called FIC in Cumming, GA about 2 years ago.

when running put a screw driver on the injector. you should hear a strong clicking. injectors are on the intake manifold. be sure to depressurize the fuel rail by taking off the fuel pump fuse and cranking the engine before any work starts. also.. part of the ignition module could be out if you have 6 running cylinders. are the dead cylinders soaked with fuel?
