front windshield replacement

Asked by TPlogue Jan 06, 2021 at 05:13 PM about the 2011 MINI Cooper S Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

does changing the front windshield in a 2011 mini cooper s affect any
electrical wiring?  We had our front windshield replaced and the next time we
drove the car the drivers side electric window isn't working properly, the front
headlight was out and the back hatch isn't staying closed.  None of these
were problems before,
we drive the car every day.

No, that should not happen. Take the vehicle back to the shop that installed the windshield so they can correct the issue. Make sure the right windshield was installed, if you have auto headlight high beams or camera sensors.

We do not have auto headlight high beams or camera sensors, no electrical work in the windshield which is why it doesn't make sense.
