2011 Santa Fe Hyundai remote will not work after changing battery

battery died changed the battery and now the remote starter does not work,.  the alarm is
fine.

I have noticed quite a bit of debate online as to whether or not you can reprogram the key fob yourself or not. I own the same vehicle but have never had this problem, but from everything I have researched for the 2011, you can have the dealer reprogram it or you can also call local locksmiths and get prices from them to do it. Most capable locksmiths have everything necessary for todays exotic keys and remotes that contain the PC chips and such.
