i wondered about your security system? Try the relearn, see if it helps? I guess your saying the starter motor won't crank the engine?

There is no relearn procedure for the VATS security system that this Deville has. Is your Passkey Fault light or security system light on with a no crank condition? Or does the engine start, run a few seconds, then die? Jim

If its a VATS system, try a different key if you have one. the chip on the key may not be making contact. If that does not work, there are bypass harnesses available that disables the VATS system . About $25. I did that on my 91 Pontiac about 3 years ago and haven't had a problem since.

The number one problem with these is the ignition lock cylinder. The tiny wires inside break off. The computer can't read the chip on the key so it thinks you're trying to start the engine without a key. Hope that helps! Jim
