why is there a small vacuum line on the positive side of the battery in the trunk

well my battery was changed and someone took out the piece that keeps the battery
from sliding and low and behold it slid and positive touched metal and it died plus blew
fuses. this is when i found out there is a small vacuum line back there but dont know
where it goes, so now my speedometer,my heater and ac dont work, my wipers dont
work and the air bag,brake,and esp lights stay on. i need help

It's not a vac line. It's a vent. Trunk batteries require a vent that connects to the custom design in order to drain away dangerous sulfide gas.NEVEER use a standard under hood battery in a trunk!
