Asked by Ochier23 Sep 18, 2017 at 10:02 PM about the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I picked my truck up from the body shop today and
drove it make a block a way and my oil pressure
drop to 0 and oil light came on. I've replaced the oil
sensor filter and the actual oil pressure sensor. The
oil pressure sensor filter did have a lot of stuff On it.
I tried driving a quater mile and it did it again.

I agree change filter and I would then get a tester for oil pressure. If it shows you have pressure you know it is not your engine. The other thing is, Silverado's had problem with dash clusters and one by one over a short time, all the gauges will fail. Check to see if your year and model fits that category. I have a 2003 and one by one gauges started to fail, but the truck ran great and had low mileage. I checked on the computer and that's how I found out about cluster problems. I replaced mine after watching a video, and it takes only about 20 mins to replace. Haven't had a problem since. Hope this helps.

You are not the only one with this problem, I have two friends with the same problem. One of my friends only had 80,000 miles on his truck and had to have a jasper engine installed because of no lubrication on the cylinder walls. Whats up with that , it's nothing to get 300,000 miles on any engine now days.
