well first of all you have 4x4 standard has 2 wheel drive only secondly you have an extended cab standard has a regular cab now if you mean the difference between a 1500 and a 1500 HD yours Is a Heavy Duty it has hevier leaf springs and is designed to take on more of a work load for more info go to chevy .com if you cant find it within the site its self then go to build my vehicle start building a 1500 and when it comes to packages HD package should be listed click on the question mark next to it and it will tell you what that package gives you
chevy built it to fight fords harley. its not a 1500 just some of the body is. its a 2500 with a 1500 cab. not much any diff. just #'s. They dont make them anymore just a max 1500 wich has a bigger engine and better towing.
It's not actually a HD, as the rims are only 6 bolt, not 8- it is a Max Trailer Towing pkg which ups the towing on a 4x4 to 10700 lbs with a 1/2 ton truck instead of 9500 and gives it a 7300 GVW rating (weight of truck plus what it can haul in the box and cab).
I myself own one, and didn't even realize until it was time to perform some preventive maintenance such as change the transmission filter and oil. It has the transmission from the 2500hd, the differntial gear ratio is also from the 2500 had. It also has different front end parts such as different inner and outer tie rods. I found that these items are dealer items only. Can't be found at your nearby parts store.
