My car had a battery light on I turned the car off to run an errand and when I got back in
the car it would not start it clicked. I got a jump & it started back up. I was waiting at the
light and it shut off again. I got another jump and the same stuff happened again. Is it just
the battery since that is what initially came on?

That battery light that you see coming on does not mean you need a new battery it is telling you there is something wrong with your charging system most likely your alternator have system tested should be charging at 14 volts.
Get a voltmeter. Attach the leads to the plus and minus posts on the battery. Start the engine. If the voltmeter reads 12 volts or less you have an alternator problem. If it reads 13 or more volts you have a bad battery.
