5.7 to 6.1 hemi swap

Asked by Jonny Jun 29, 2018 at 12:46 PM about the 2005 Chrysler 300 C RWD

Question type: Car Customization

I have a blown 2005 Chrysler 300c 5.7 hemi probably just
need a rebuild but I wanna do a swap if possible. Is it just
as simple as dropping in another 5.7 if not what changes
besides tranny would need to be made

If you swap in an identical motor you should be good to go, if same motor but different year, pay attention to changes made as that can affect the ECU (you might have to reflash ECU in those cases). A remanufactured engine would also be a good candidate, often cheaper than a rebuild and without the delay of waiting on a rebuild.
