Is it positive replace muffler only on 2012 pop or do I have to replace the entire exhaust system

Asked by Guru1VD3 Apr 22, 2017 at 01:04 PM about the 2012 FIAT 500 Pop

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2012 pop's muffler has started making a really
loud noise and my husband figured it's time to
replace the muffler. He generally does most of the
maintenance on our cars but when he went to
check out the exhaust system on the Fiat he really
the muffler and exhaust system is one long
continuous piece. Is there a diy way to replace the
muffler or do we have to spend $1000 to replace
the whole system?
Another issue is the back windshield wiper stopped
working and we are unable to open the trunk hatch.
Any ideas?

If you take the vehicle to an exhaust shop they could insert just a muffler into the exhaust, it would be a lot cheaper. The back hatch just needs to be figured out.

If your 500 Pop is a convertible to have to use the reset process to open the trunk hatch
