Siren and flashing lights

Last night, car in garage.  Suddenly siren wailing from the  garage.  it was the
van, lights also flashing. I put the key in the ignition and started the car.  That
killed the siren and the flashing.  To my knowledge, the van has no theft
deterrence except for the immobilizer car keys.  Car doors were left unlocked.  
No sign of an intruder's attempt to move the van.   What's this all about?

May have ben a heavy truck going by causing some vibration to activate the security system.
