supercharger out

Asked by Shannon_1 Oct 21, 2010 at 03:54 PM about the 2005 Chrysler Crossfire Roadster RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was hearing noise and took the car to the dealer.  They initially said it was the tensioner for the supercharger, and replaced that.  Now they say that the entire supercharger needs to be replaced, to the tune of $7300. The car has 46k miles and is not under warranty. Any options that I should be aware of?  Can I have the supercharger disconnected?
