Overheated car, shut off, now wont start in middle of no where
My 2011 Kia Forte, had the light come on that it was hot a little over a month ago after a service, briefly, took it to the garage, and they just added some coolant to the radiator, and said it was low. I week ago it came on again, I stopped quickly, it again needed coolant, which I added and was fine. Car was running fine, I just thought maybe they did not enough. Yesterday on the interstate, the temp light came on again, there was no where to stop, and I turned the heater on, and the light went off quickly. I looked up a gas station to stop while driving, and the light came on again, about 4 miles out, I had left the heat on, but low fan, so I turned it up the fan, but no hot air to pull from engine, it was cool. As I pulled in to the gas station, the car cut off and I coasted to a parking space. The car was running fine on hwy, other than the light. When I checked, engine was hot, but the upper hose and radiator car were not. When I previously added coolant, the radiator was not hot, either. I added some coolant to the car, and then the upper hose got hot few min later, and the radiator cap. I slowly filled the coolant, which seemed low in the radiator, but the car then would not turn over. Any suggestions to get it started and to a garage. It just will not turn over, the "hot" light was only on a few minutes, and I just want to get it to a shop, not tow it. Was thinking of trying to change thermostat to see if would start to get it somewhere
