do i need to replace my transmission

car will go a short distance and stops moving . it will go in reverse . if i sit and
wait awhile it will move forward again for a short distance and stop moving. do i
need to replace the transmission ?

Have a good transmission shop check it, electronic transmissions can have solenoid problems as well as TCM failures that may mimic a bad transmission. So have the pros take a look.
