Why wont the trunk open

If you have the manual for the car it shows you the procedure to open the trunk and trouble shooting. Check the glove box and see if there is a switch that controls the main operation of the trunk, it may have been moved to the off position which blocks the trunk lid from opening, including with the smart key.
