Convertible top beeping on 2012 Mitsubishi eclipse spyder gs sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently purchased a used 2012 Mitsubishi
eclipse spyder gs sport with automatic
transmission.  It's running great, but when I put the
top up and close the latches in place then go to
drive the indicator light for the top flashes and
upon initial movement it beeps for several
seconds. This also happens if I break at a stop
light and it'll beep again when I resume movement.
When driving with the top up, it glasses the
indicator at a rate of approximately 2 times a
second. Everything appears to be properly closed
and latched. Suggestions on how to fix it?

You have to hold the button down until it beeps at you. Once it beeps it will stop.

I have the same problem with my 2011 Spyder. If I hit a bump if I go over a speed bump when I stop and when I start the indicator told me the roof is open even though it is secure it drives me nuts I would love a solution
