Engine knock

You need to verify the knock, but usually it is a rod knock in the engine.

I don't ribbing l think it's a rod it's not that type of sound. It sounds like something else. I'll check.

It's more of a thumping sound.

Just take it to a garage and have someone take a listen. May not be that serious then.

Can you be more specific on the thumping sound? What part of the engine is it coming from? Or is it from somewhere else in the car, if it is then I can take a good guess.

Sounds like the back of the engine. It even sputters when while making that sound.

Then you could have just an engine miss causing the engine to rock a bit, and may be the exhaust just hitting something making the thump noise. It may be it just needs a tune-up.

Maybe the engine or transmission mounts are bad.

My 2016 nissan altima is knocking i thought it was the oil because i didnt have any in it but i put the oil in it let it run for a min an its still knocking what does that mean?
