replaced the EGR valve and the engine light did not go off, i had an auto parts store tell me to disconnectthe battery for 10 min then connect back. the engine light went off. did this reset the code? Also after reading this fourm, i tried turning the key on off onn off on and no error code showed up but my check engine light blinked severl times, is that normal?

yes the code reset from disconnecting the battery. will it come back on? all depends on if the egr was what was wrong with it.

That's what I had to do to my 2007 ram 1500. (Disconnect battery) Been two years now and it has not come back on for egr issues.
