Convertible bonnet will not disengage or open

I've recently purchased a BMW
2004 325ci convertible. The seller
informed me that he had tried to
lock the bonnet manually with the
provided Allen wrench and may
have turned the locking mechanism
too far. I've tried the manual
method, but can't get the locks
above the sun visors to disengage.
