2007 Ford explorer random misfire
Asked by Eug218 Aug 25, 2019 at 02:14 PM about the 2007 Ford Explorer XLT V8 4WD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I forget the whole code but it ends in 00 so no
particular cylinder. I have 4.6 v8. When I am driving
it feels like I am driving on the side of the road
where the rumble stops are in case you fall asleep
for a couple of seconds only when I'm acclimation
at about 1500rpm at any speed. Last time I had
this problem it wad a fuel injector. Fixed by my
mechanic but that cost me a ton of cash. Trying to
determine which injector it is on my own. Andy
offered on how to do that or if this is the course of
this problem someone can let me know.

you need to pull the code again as that will tell you if it is a misfire and what cylinder. many things can cause a misfire
I've had misfires before and the choice points to a certain cylinder. So I check plug or coil pack. But now I have a p0300 choice which is a random misfire last time I had this my mechanic put his machine on it ran the car at 1500rpms and he saw a glitch on cylinder 1 changed that fuel injector the problem went away. But now it's back and I wad going someone could tell me how to treat each injector to see which one I'd bad without taking it to my mechanic.
There are two types of coil faults I have seen in the Tritons. One is easy as you get a code for the bad coil. The other one can cause all sorts of codes that change a lot. My suggestion is to replace all the coils to save time trying to figure out which one is bad. A set on Amazon is less than $100.

Try this test on each coil rather than buying all the coils. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=p0300+code+2007+Ford+Explorer+XLT+V8&&view=detail&mid=AD3B6B047B0F0486EE89AD3B6B047B0F0486EE89&&FORM=VRDGAR
