I have a 2001 3.8 L mustang, it sat for about a year tried to start fuel pump out, ran great previously. Replaced fuel pump motor only, cleaned tank changed fuel filter and it ran great for about 60 miles. All of a sudden running rough misfires, knocks rough idle. Replaced all plugs, coil pack, EGR and 2 injectors (3-4)which showed misfire on diagnostic. First start idles great feels smooth after 15 minutes same conditions occur, sooner when driving. What should I test the fuel pressure again?

my 1988 mustang gt convertible usually runs great but sometimes it idles up and down and will even die. the problem stops when i accelerate but will continue at cruising speed. sometimes it does not happen for days, then when it happens it can last for a few seconds up to a day. i have replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel filter and egr valve. it feels like a vacuum issue, but i do not think a vacuum issue would come and go like this. i am lost! please help 3 Answers

My son has an 04 mustang 3.8 v6. Having a engine problems and can't seem to figure out what is going on. It starting running really bad a day or so after filling gas tank. We suspected bad gas and treated as such. A couple of weeks have gone by and it is getting worse. It starts up OK and runs OK for 10-15 mins. Then it starts skipping and cutting back. It will shut off a few minutes later. It may restart one time, but will not stay running. If we wait a few hours it will restart and run OK for 10-15 mins. We have replaced plugs, wires, and coil pack. Diagnostics only gives a running too lean code every so often. Fuel pressure was running around 17-20 psi and drops below 10 at times. I have a1995 ford mustang GT 5.0. recently I was reving my engine, and just shortly after my car started bucking and hesitating. Almost dieing at a complete stop. If the stop was long enogh it would stop. I have changed the EGR valve, the IAC valve and the fuel regulator. Also I have replaced all of the hoses that go to the upper intake and the upper intake gasket. I just cleaned the MAF sensor with MAF sensor spray cleaner and now the the check enging light is on and it hesitates when I drive. but the rpms are steady as to where before they were all over the band. any Ideas 4 Answers
