Is it my alternator?

I have a 01 Mustang GT and while I'm
driving I hit 48-50 and a whining like noise
starts up but once I let off the gas pedal it
stops. Now I believe it's my alternator but
I'm not 100% sure and id like help from you
guys thank you

usually it is caused from belt tensioner or a guide roller but it dont cost anything to have alternator tested off the car will make noise there
