What's entailed in installing a roll bar and what is
the cost? Does it make the car much safer?

maximum motorsports or team z motorsports have bolt on roll bar kits that are certified. and yes it does make it much safer

The best setup is to tie the frame together and weld in a roll bar, but bolt in ones are good too from a safety standpoint.
