Hey guys, i have a 2005 ford mustang V6 4.0 and i am having problems with the EGR
system. could please any one tell me why the EGR valve is open when the car is in idle
??? i know it shouldn't i know the problem is not the valve because i tried i new one
already. when the car is in idle it runs horrible. Can some body help me please ?

EGR valve of this model is controlled by electronics, remove the valve and clean all that carbon deposits around the valve head and re-fix it. mostly this is due to carbon deposits accumulated.

Thanks for your anwser !! :) but the problen is not carbon because i checked that already and it looks clean. other thing is that i can read codes because i am driving the car with the EGR unplug ( disconnected ) cause like that it runs better. All i know is that something is giving power to the valve when the car is in low rpms and its causing the problem i think. thanks man :)

do one more thing, cut a gasket from thin aluminum sheet to cover complete area of holes where gas passes, and close it, then plug it back. ECU will remove the code as it sees the actuator ok. your jerking and loss of power issue would resolve.

hey chry just one thing i dont understand when you say the two holes where the gas passes ? are this part of the EGR ? because the egr is attached to the intake, connected to the exhaust, it has two vacuum hoses and an electrical connection. how do i do that man ? Thanks for your help bro

good afternoon i have questions i need help so i replaced all the gaskets on the top end and i removed the egr and the egr tube and installed a plate and cap since i removed them the car runs like crap now in drive and reverse but when its in park and neutral it runs and sounds fine no problems at that point what can i do to fix the problem
