flashing lights, electrical stuff stopped working

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A few months ago things in my car stopped working - clock, radio, power locks, etc. Took it to the dealer, and they changed some fuses.
Lately the interior lights have been flashing intermittently.  I asked them to check it when it was in for an oil change. They said they didn't know what it is, maybe sensors in the doors, but it would take a few hours to test them all, and I didn't have the time.
This weekend we took a roadtrip. Lights flashing, but not as much. Then suddenly we smelled a burning odor and there was a message "tire sensor bad/missing". The smell dissipated, but the clock stopped. Bit by bit other things stopped. Now: clock, radio, door locks, power seats. I tried today to change some fuses, but it doesn't seem to have helped. Any ideas?

think yours might have a BCM (body control module) that may want to see a proper ground~let's check~

as I've been reading this stems from a bad ground...is your battery older then five...get a NEW battery please...and when you do break out the wirebrush and clean the end of the 1/0 black cable as it attaches to ground...clean the ground so it can pull 300 cold cranking amps through there and at the engine too...funny how they put the GIANT amperage load in the same basket as the teeny-weenie 150 mA load for the computer...just makes no sense at all, from an electrical point of view as a computer would like to see a minimum variation in available amperage and voltage not straying too far from 12V....you problem is electrical...your BCM will behave itself once it sees proper gronding...okay~?
