Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi I've got a 2003 chrysler 300m and a month a go I replaced the rear
struts, front lower control arms, and front stablizer and their bushings. Then
I took the car for an allignment and 2 days after that, I started hearing a
sound under my legs from under the car when hitting the bumps ( specialy
when turning left and one of my wheels hits a bump , the sound also
sometimes gets repetitive when going on an uneven or abit bumpy road
and it feels as if someone is hitting the car from beneath with a hammer.
So I went to the mechanic and he said it could be the sway bar bushings,
so I replaced them but the sound is still there, then ge said it could be the
front struts, so I replaced them too but still nothing, then he said it could be
the inner cv axles of the driveshaft, so I replaced both driveshafts and their
axles but still nothing. His has guess is the output bearing of the
transmission to the inner cv axle. But I cant trust him anymore after all this.
Please help me find out what could be the problem. Thanks.

Could it be a simple as the exhaust is loose? Going over a bumpy road and the exhaust knocking under the car sounds as you describe.

Thanks for your answer, but I suspect if its the exhust, then sound is not a vibrating sound but a once strong knock at a single point as the wheel goes over a bump, And I completly feel it under my leg under the gas pedal.

Have the motor and transmission mounts checked. Thats about all it could be.

Thanks again , The mointings had not come to my mind, I will get them checked. Here is a short video I made of the knocking noise. https://youtu.be/B5MzeGQRV5U

Pretty short video, the way that sounds there should be a wear mark somewhere. I would say to go back to the people who did the front end alignment and let them have a look. They should be pretty good at finding something loose, worn. If there where anything with the front end, they would not have done the alignment.

Thanks alot for your answer. I am going to the mechanic to check the mounts tomorrow . However I noticed that when I push on the passenger side of the car, the same sound comes. I made a video , here is the link : https://youtu.be/99yQ9TBHnbM

That sound is a definite metal on metal, A front end part like the sway bar link is broke. It is not motor mount or trany mount. That sound should be easy to track down. Somebody like you say has ben taking you for a ride. I cannot believe when you got the front end alignment that they did not find that! Any good front end alignment shop would have caught that. I know the shop in my town would not even do a front end alignment with a bad part in the front end. Any stupid mechanic should be able to track that down. It just pisses me off when I hear of things like this that should have ben caught when you took it in for repair.

So I just went for an other check . And you were right. The sound came from thec left sway bar link, although it was new but the screw had loosened. So basically they made me change the bushings, struts, and cv axles but the real problem was a loose screw in the sway bar link. Thanks alot for your help , I really appreciate it. Problem solved ;)
