How much does it cost to get an '03 Chrysler Sebring fixed if there is a rod going out in the engine?

Asked by Asunshine6413 Jun 02, 2017 at 03:42 PM about the 2003 Chrysler Sebring LX Convertible FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am looking for a vehicle and found an '03
Sebring convertible priced at 1,000 due to
a rod going out in the engine. I have talked
them into $700 since I will obviously have
to pay to get work done on it soon. How
much will that cost if I buy the car. It's got
91k miles on it which is pretty low honestly
in my opinion. I need help. Should I pass
on this car? The sellers say it's got at least
3 months before it's a must to get fixed..

Run as fast as possible away from this car....

They are notoriously unreliable and it will cost thousands of dollars to keep and maintain this car..! Not worth it.

Our 99 Sebring was a pretty trouble free car. They were actually a Mitsubishi Galant back then. A new engine might cost 2 to 3 grand and used engines are a big gamble. I would move on to another vehicle unless you have cash to burn.
