Heater not working until I drive for a few mins and when I run the AC when I turn the car off there's a clicking noise for a few minutes

Asked by Jennyf1 Oct 26, 2017 at 02:30 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Impala Unmarked Police FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I turn my car on to let it warm up on cold mornings
but it just blows cold air until I start driving. Also
when I run the AC it runs fine until I turn off the car
then there's a clicking noise that goes on for like 3
minutes then the clicking stops.

I'm not sure about the clicking noise but it sounds like you need a new thermostat or your coolant level is low in regards to the heat issue

I have heard a lot of complaints on the Chevy Impalas but the Heat or air conditioning does not work on idle only at higher speeds sounds like a recall to me that never got fixed
