My 2003 chrysler sebring abruptly overheated

Asked by Crystalmc81 Aug 10, 2019 at 11:48 PM about the 2003 Chrysler Sebring LX Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Today I was driving bout 25-30min
from home i was running at the fastest
75mph, when i got to the town outside
of where i was going all of sudden my
temperature gauge shot clear to high
from being normal, so I got to the gas
station shut it off popped the hood and
looked in the antifreeze revore tank
and it was boiling, I let it sit for about
45min to cool down, there hasnt been
any leaks except for the front
passenger side by the tire which it was
a clear oil base liquid and I was told
that was my caliber, other then that no
leaks and it has never overheat like
that before, could it be my thermostat?
Plz help cause since I took it to have
the starter changed a couple weeks
ago little thing have gone wrong or
stopped working
