Battery Dies
Occasionally, usually after sitting for a couple of days, I got a loud ticking sound instead of the usual starting sounds when trying to start the car. I had to use a battery charger to get it going again, even though the battery was fairly new. Then I read about someone who solved their starting problem by disconnecting and reconnecting the car heaters under the front seats. I tried that and the other connections under the seats as well and, surprise, the battery instantly became dead and trying to start it went back to the ticking sound! There were no starting problems right before this and a battery check before showed that it was charged OK. What could possibly be going on?
