Tail light replacement

I am helping my girlfriend fix her 2002 Chrysler
Concorde, which needs a rear left headlight.  When
I got to a local pick and pull I noticed they had an
LX, but to my luck the rear left tail light was
missing.  However there was an LXI with the rear
tail light but it was slightly different, mainly that it
had a clear spot in the bottom right corner.  I took it
off to see if it would fit the LX and it did.  Because I
wouldn't not replace one that looked different I
grabbed both the left and right tail lights off the LXI
and went home.  When I get home and start to
install the new taillights and realized the bulbs
were slightly different and one doesn't even fit.  Are
theses light housings universal or model specific?
