I have a 1991 ford ranger to tow behind my motor home, but just purchased the 2007 ford ranger fx4 supercab 4WD
and wonder if my old base plate can be transferred to the new truck. If not, what would I need to purchase. Thanks,

I couldn't find the exact answer to your question there malibu, but: www.ford.com/.../ford/.../towingguides/11FLMRVTT has some good information about towing the truck, most everything I found except that is about what the truck will tow, not the other way around
CLASS 3 HITCH WILL DO THE TRICK,THE GVW ON NEW TRUCK IS PROBABLY HEAVIER THAN THE 91,CHECK WEIGHT TOTALS,THEN MAKE YOUR DECISION.

I was always told never tow a 4x4 long distance without a tow dolly. My great uncle tows his 2009 ranger on one from Florida to Mi and back every year. Weard thing is that he come up for the snow. He luvs it.
