How to access the
battery.

It's in the front section of the passenger side front fender. Disconnect the neg battery cable close to the firewall. Remove the bolts holding the air cleaner assembly in place (removing the air feed tube from the air cleaner assembly helps) Once this is removed, you should be able to see the battery hold down.
