Recheck battery cable is clean and tight, undamaged. Top and starter draw biggest amps, while lights do not. BCM controls most accessories, locks, alarm, etc, and can be damaged by jump start surge. Did you check engine compartment fuses? Radio has anti theft feature activated when battery power removed, may need reset.

I am having a similar problem . The 8 fuse under hood of my 2002 Sebring is blowing ever fuse I have replaced. I never had a problem with the car until Sunday .I have back tracked the wires. I know the convertible top windshield wipers the starter and radio are all on a 20 voltage fuse. Anyone have a idea why it just started without any warning . The next morning wouldn't do anything. It went fine to not starting. The battery is tested good voltage.

replace the fuse with a 20A circuit breaker, there are also TWO fused branch circuits downstream of that, its simply the collected load ahas gotten to close to the blow current when the key is turned, a circuit breaker doesnt trip as fast and the car will be fine

The #8 is for the starter. Starter may be binding up when hot, causing the fuse to blow.
