Is royal purple 5w20 bad for a ranger

Asked by GuruBC7SQ Dec 29, 2018 at 12:33 AM about the 2005 Ford Ranger 2 Dr XL Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok my truck  had 70k when I switched  to castral
edge now its 100k and I just switched  to royal
purple now just tonight it was rough starting.  Is
royal purple  crap oil?  Or could I go back to castral
edge?  Or I am going to have issues with royal
purple . And how does mobile one compare  I'm
just hoping  putting RP in want a mistake  also
using  a mobile 1 filter instead of motorcraft.
Please help. Engine size 2.3   and oil viscosity
5w20

I doubt the oil has anything to do with the engine running rough. In my opinion you are wasting your money with the RP.
