Chrysler Sebring brake pads
Asked by Idalia Dec 20, 2017 at 07:31 AM about the 2001 Chrysler Sebring LX Convertible FWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2001 Chrysler Sebring Convertible and in
the course of three months I have had to change
the driver side back break and rotor three times.
The pads waste super fast and I don’t know what’s
causing it. I changed the caliper on it too. Please if
someone knows how to fix this problem I would
truly appreciate it.

Sometimes older brake hoses come apart inside in such a manner that pressure is not totally released when the brake pedal is released. I would consider replacing the brake hose to that wheel and bleeding the brakes. Also check the parking brake if it is of the type that uses the brake caliper to apply the parking brake.
Good morning there Bob...
Good morning to you Rowefast, nice to see that you have returned to this horrible forum.
I have and been extremely bizzy. Winter time here now, I will have some time to spend indoors now. Good to see you are still on here.
Agree with you there Tom. And a good morning to you also. But you know, were people helping people who of most appreciate our incite on how to save a buck or just want to learn.
might be a caliper that isn't releasing- who is doing the work? next time make sure the piston in the caliper is moving freely-
Thank you very much, Bob. I greatly appreciate your help and will definitely pass the information to my husband. He will replace the brake hose and hopefully that solves the problem. Thank you once again.
Hello, Jamnblues. My husband has been the one doing the work. As Bob mentioned above I’ll have him replace the brake hose. I will also tell him to check the caliper, it shouldn’t be bad since it’s new, but I know there’s a chance it came defective. Thank you for all the information; I greatly appreciate it. Have an amazing day.
